The official delegation of Odesa City Council was pleased to pay a courtesy call, which was welcomed by the office of His Excellency Hassan Ali Joho, who is the Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs. At the time of signing the sister-city agreement (January 21, 2021), Mr. Joho was acting as a County 001 Governor and had put in many efforts to implement the partnership project.
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate His Excellency on his new reinstatement as well as to start discussions with Kenyan partners in the fields of Mines, Maritime Affairs, Blue Economy, Education and Tourism among other important projects.
The city of Odesa in Ukraine, which has already signed a twinning agreement with Mombasa County in Kenya, was also pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the existence of a similar partnership with Nairobi County and further cooperation with this prestigious department and its hard-working team.
